Unveiling the Power of Bullets: Silencing Voices or Reigniting Resilience

Bullet Inflicted Wounds: Silencing Voices or Reigniting Resilience is a photography project aimed at exploring the impact of violence on individuals and communities. This project seeks to shed light on the consequences of violence and examine how it affects both the silenced voices and the resilience within communities. Through my lens I tend to capture stories, emotions, and moments that reveal the profound and complex aftermath of bullet-inflicted wounds.

Masafer Yatta:  is an area located in the southern part of the West Bank, and it has been subject to ongoing force deviction, demolition, forcible transfer and displacement of the Palestinian population by Israeli authorities for many years.

It consists of 23 khirbes and villages inhabited by Bedouins who were displaced from areas around Beersheba and the Naqab desert in the south of the country. They include eight khirbes inhabited by people who are threatened with eviction after the area was declared a closed military zone, or Firing Zone 918 when the Israeli High Court rejected in May of last year an appeal by 12 communities in Masafer Yatta against declaring the area a firing zone and upheld the army’s plan to evict their Palestinian residents. As a result, the communities in which they live became vulnerable to a series of policies and measures that affected the security of the people who live there, worsened their living conditions, and increased the poverty level among them and their dependence on humanitarian assistance.

Some residents of Masafer Yatta were displaced in 1999, followed by dozens of demolitions of homes, schools and mosques.
In addition to demolitions, Israeli authorities have also restricted Palestinian access to land and water resources in the area, making it difficult for Palestinian farmers and herders to make a living. This has resulted in a significant economic impact on the Palestinian population in Masafer Yatta, as they are unable to cultivate crops or raise livestock.

Nablus: a city besieged yet undefeated, calls upon the world to bear witness, to listen, and to stand alongside the voices that refuse to be silenced. Only through collective awareness, understanding, and action can we strive towards a future where the walls bear witness not to loss and sorrow, but to triumph and the resilience of the human spirit.

Undemolished: Despite the Israeli occupation›s relentless efforts to tear apart Palestinian communities through house demolitions and attacks, the people remain strong and united like a demolished house holding its pieces together. Their resilience and strength are a testament to their unwavering determination to overcome the challenges they face.

Freedom Fighters: Growing up in a state of constant violence and struggle, Palestinian children and teenagers support each other, form strong bonds, and find joy and happiness wherever they can. They are exposed to trauma that can leave a lasting impact on their lives. The violence they face may lead some to aspire to become resistant fighters, while others are left with the scars of a childhood and loss.

Cattles: Every day, Palestinian lives are ruthlessly butchered and discarded like cattle, with little regard for the sanctity of human life. Their struggles and suffering are often ignored or overlooked by the world, as they are relegated to a status of less-than-human. The cycle of violence and oppression perpetuates, leaving Palestinians trapped in a perpetual state of trauma and despair.

Henna:  Palestinian women and elders, pillars of strength,
Preserving culture, enduring despite the lengths,
In the face of violence, they stand tall,
Resisting occupation, answering the call.

Their stories, woven deep into their core,
Resilient tapestries, forevermore,
Through generations, traditions they impart,
A living legacy, etched in their heart.

Women, a wellspring of unwavering might,
Guiding their families through the darkest night,
Amid struggles, they remain undeterred,
Nurturing hope, mending what›s been stirred.

Backbone of resistance, they persist,
Against oppression, they courageously resist,
With grace and determination, they belong,
A beacon of hope, steadfast and strong.

Open Air Prison: Living under the Israeli occupation is like being trapped in an open-air prison, with a window that offers a glimpse of the world but no escape. Palestinians are denied the basic human right of freedom of movement and are forced to endure life under constant surveillance, restriction, and oppression.

Bridge of Hope: Where Boundaries Dissolve and Unity Prevails.

Dead Palestinian Fish: Captured in a heartbreaking moment, a fish floats listlessly, its soul adrift amidst the turbulent waters of border restrictions. Once free to explore boundless depths, it now languishes, confined to a limited world. Its once graceful swim has been silenced, a poignant reminder of the toll imposed by barriers on the beauty of natures wanderers
